They walk past me, then offer free moon pies on account of it being mardi gras. I express great interest in said moon pies, but they run out before giving me one. A guy who was listening to "Ninja Rap" by Vanilla Ice on his laptop gets on instead. Two more exams and I get to live in the seemingly endless 38 days of winter break. I'm sure we'll get to hang out during that time, despite your day job as a student. I used to love you, and you called me a sweetheart, but I don't and can't feel anymore. In my Bible, there is a huge insert that breaks up the pages that 139 is printed on, which lists different passages to study for different issues that a person might have. I noted this fact, and Handsome John was somewhat intrigued. He saw there was a section on women.
"Turn to the section on women, I want to know what it's about," commands John.
"No man, it's something we must leave secret," I tried to reason with him.
However, he insisted, "Look there is a section Advanced Women's issues. Go there."
I was left with no choice. I started reading some of the titles, such as dealing with abuse, and something about self-confidence.
At this moment Jon Copper decides to come over and introduce himself and ask about our Bible study. It was a pretty awkward moment for a football player to come over and try to talk to us, but it was cool to meet a guy on varsity football (even if they did lose to UNC 7-5) Yeah he may be a special-teamer, but that means he actually plays in all the games, which is pretty sweet.
This story will probably remind me of some embarrassing situation from my past which I will post at a later time. No guaranties though.

Things I saw that were awesome today

1. First impressions have already been made, and we are in for the long haul now. My roommate is quiet, and very polite. Sometimes I feel bad because I come in late after he has already gone to bed.
Last night I didn't go to any crazy parties or things like that. I went to the FSBC campout. It was nice to talk to Nico about school, all the rest of the people there were little kids. For all I know though, they could be in 9th grade already. Charles kicked Charlie S. out of the pool, which was a victory for all that is good or decent in the world. I got back and basically went right to bed.
Today was a typical grey rainy day. It was ideal for sleeping in. Dined with the Guffman and his ITC friend Jason, and had great discussions about old videogames, most notably NBA Jam.
Classes are for the most part interesting, and the workload will be tolerable. My suitemates have put up with me, and all the high school kids that keep wanting to visit. I haven't been able to play much guitar, because the stand I am using is unsafe. A few days ago, the guitar fell out of it, and I slightly chipped the back. It sucks that it isn't pristine anymore, but it had to happen sometime, and at least people don't see the back of it that much.

This quiz was actually quite fun

You are starch. I made it to Oregon with all my party still alive, despite Joel getting lost on three separate occasions (is this game amazing or what?) No one even got any weird diseases, so that was kind of disappointing. Actually, I think Guthrie got measles, so that was kind of fun. The river part at the end was really easy, just like I remembered; I never understood why people complained so much about it.

On a different topic, I started work yesterday. It was pretty cool because Kirsten is the best boss ever. I drank 2 liters of Pepsi for free from the snack bar, listened to a radio with a skimmer pole as the antenna, and got 'Prophet' as my trucker name for the walkie-talkies. Yelling at little kids and cleaning up trash has never been so fun! Thanks has to go to Toby for taking that shift then not being able to do it and calling me (even though he woke me up like 10 times while calling.)

Why? Then the huge guy on green scored after pushing off a lot to tie the game at 1-1. The second half was frustrating, as gold had many chances to go ahead, but was unable to capitalize until the final minutes of the game, when The Punisher was unleashed from his goalkeeper position. He scored the go ahead goal on a header from a corner kick. Then Charles added another score to make the game end 3-1.

Green 3, Maroon 0
My brothers team somehow beat maroon, who I hate. I made my choice between the play or the movie, and the movie was a good pick. Saw is a beautifully terrifying and disturbing movie. It was not perfect, but it did the job well enough. Somewhat preachy at the end, but it made me think about what kind of situation the killer would put me in. What lesson would he try to teach me about life? I would have to speculate the involvement of chemistry homework. Some people were afraid of the killer in the movie, but I was more afraid of letting myself get caught in that kind of situation. I don't want to ever be crazy enough to bash someone's head in. The movie was far superior to The Grudge. I also was glad to be able to just have fun for once, and not think about anything. I've been missing that a lot lately. It reminds me that my life is actually fun, and it's just been a miserable phase that has been eating away at me. I also finished The Da Vinci Code today, which had me thinking of secret organizations, which made me recall Los Banditos. Again, excellent times, in need of a comeback. (See, there were fun things all the time.) My weekend of repentance to homework did not work out so well, as I have done no work these two days. Homework is rubbish. Guitar is a far better addiction, and I kind of kicked the AIM habit. Not really. Oh well. Sorry for the elegiac entry so far. This is also a very soothing thing to do, just let the words flow like this. Sadly I also figured out that Snake is probably better than I will ever be at Halo 2. Disturbing news indeed, although I have not played any Halo 2 at all today. Instead the aforementioned guitar was the distraction of choice. I almost wrote a decent song today as well. My songwriter role model is Elliot Smith, minus the addictions and suicide. He was a sheer genius in the creation of guitar licks / awesome sounding lyrics. The only sad thing about tonight is the fact that I miss a certain girl that I like so very very much. I mean, I had a wonderful time tonight anyway, and I have no doubt that she did as well, but it still is a little bit disappointing. Disappointing is the wrong word because it sounds like I expected to see her, but think of it as disappointing, but without expectations. That was kind of rant-ish and not quite perfect, but everything I write is a working version (sometimes an indefinitely suspended working version.)

P.S. Two bonus points to H.M. for being the only other person besides Joel's mom to call my cell phone. (Not that I really have given anyone my number, which makes the feat even more unbelieveable.)

P.P.S. However, it did me a little favor today. Sometimes even when you get hit in the face with a snowball, and are lying on the ground pissed off at your friends who did it to you, you have to smile. I smiled because I wasn't in Chemistry. I smiled because it was outside and I could feel I was alive. I've been missing that lately. Great day, now I just have to make sure I don't ruin it. I won't even think about failing three classes in school. I won't think about how stupid I am sometimes. I won't think of awkwardness and being sick and tired. I will think of being outside, covered in snow, or at the top of a mountain. I will think of crazy dreams, of "Free John Schoonover!" t-shirts. (I am going to make one for Erik, and Patrick, and me.) Crazy dreams about Ben and Taylor dropping Cochran's class for Spanish-III instead, and the tiniest lacrosse field ever. Maybe I'll think about epic record breaking phone calls. Most likely I'll think about March first. I can't wait for this painful, evil, depressing, horrible month to end. What is it about February that makes me have such a negative point of view?

New Art

I temporarily suspended work on "Dark-haired Girl" to begin work on a new piece called "Ocean's Wounds." Those titles make the pieces seem really stupid, but they are fun for me to paint, and considering I admit I have no skill, the enjoyment I get from painting is all that matters. I want to finish a good looking painting so I can frame it and put it up. Or maybe just put it up.

Also I almost killed my brother today. Over something stupid. In fact he received this complement recently. A girl said it to him.
"Clinton Swords is a fine name." she said to him.
Clinton didn't say anything back to that girl. Clinton didn't say many words that night. He was at a birthday party one of his obscure friends. He had a lot of friends, on account of the name and all.
One person that was not his friend was named Lonnie Noblett. Lonnie owned a used swords dealership, right next to the highway near the airport. Lonnie's swords, the sign proudly shone in a neon blue light. Lonnie was always asking Clinton for favors, on account of his name.
"Clinton," he'd say, "come film a commercial for my used sword shop." Lonnie thought that because of Clinton's somewhat relevant name, (Swords and swords are the same word, basically) that having an endorsement on TV from Clinton would help business.
"Lonnie, I hate your flimsy swords. They are no good for violence!" Clinton would answer back. Clinton was starting to become impatient with Lonnie. His face was starting to look like a gigantic bumblebee.
"Clinton, come outside and clean up the dog poop on the front lawn of my store." Lonnie ventured this request. It failed.
"Having a last name like Swords has no effect on my poop-cleaning ability." Clinton was outraged. He had had enough of Lonnie, and his stupid used swords. Clinton decided to drive over to Vincent Van Go's auto repair shop...

All in a Year's Work

In the year 2005 I resolve to:

Take over the world.

Get your resolution here

Staying up late is bad for you

Due to the actions of some people, I stayed up until 6:15 AM on New Year's Eve. I am good at hiding.

Anyone Can Write a Blog

My life is so sweet. I watched this show when I was a kid all the time, even though it only had three seasons. Everything about it was great, even though some episodes weren't as great, there are some that are just totally sweet. The show was really bizarre at times, but in a good way. Also, it didn't have stupid endings like other kids shows did (for example Farewell My Little Viking parts 1 and 2.)

I would buy 5 copies of the show if all the seasons came out on DVD. But Nickelodeon won't release it. The only way I can see them is really bad quality downloads from Kazaa, or by buying a set that a guy recorded from the times he taped the show (still not great quality.) I can only hope an official DVD set of all three seasons is released sometime.

Until then, I can only wait. Oh and I forgive them for that one show about Johnny Unitas. That's how good it was.

The I'm Sorry Song

Sorry for neglecting you faithful readers,
I totally forgot you.
Forgot. It was at a pop quiz competition made up by the Monticello tv production students. It was pretty sweet to win, considering that the questions were really easy for the most part, and that the buzzer system was confusing. They said it worked one way, but it really didn't. I got kind of lucky on the first round, the Math round, because I got the final question right, and the girl from Western who was in the lead screwed up on the adding or something. Then I had a heated battle with Taylor in the final round but I prevailed. We joked around a lot then. And during the hour and a half it took to set up the cameras I got to joke about Western, because I flipped my collar up and pretended like I was a student there. I really wish Taylor wore his tie that said "On a Mission from God" on it, because that would have been sweet.

Tom came over for dinner with my family tonight. It's really funny when he comes, becuase he always has the best stories. We talked of strongbad, and Halo 2, and colleges. Then he told this story about how he printed out a fake ID on plain paper, and taped it onto his drivers liscense, kind of as a joke, kind of because it worked sometimes. Then he used it at Harris Teeter by accident and they took it away from him. Their store policy is to keep fake IDs, so he couldn't even get his liscense back, even though that technically was real, and it was just the taped on paper that was fake. He loses his liscense a lot, either by legal means, or by theft means. He also told me that his fraternity uses their couches to sled on. And he sells cigarettes to his frat brothers to make money.

Science Bowl Practice

Mr. Kishore showed up at science bowl practice today, and sat with our team, which was all seniors. K-Sho had some funny reactions to the incomprehensible(to anyone other than Brian) bio questions. Also, after about 5 questions he said "aren't there any humanites questions?" He was totally serious, I guess he didn't know it was science bowl. He was severely disappointed to learn that questions were only science and math. This was proved during the next question when he buzzed in and answered "This is crap." He was awarded no points for his protest.

Also somewhat exciting today was the day-long argument between Ben and Evans over what exactly Evans said about the Confederate flag and the South. It reached many levels of insult, and volume. Fortunately when they were extremely loud in Calculus class, we didn't disturb the adjacent class, because they too were also having a high volume argument simultaneously. Ah, the joys of Charlottesville High School.

Old Rag

Hiking Old Rag was awesome. I was in 4 pictures, and I missed Science Bowl. I was able to miss a lot of class, which is the most important part of the pictures. Now I'm off do avoid some Chemistry homework.

Predictions

Results
Last Week : 1-5
Season : 34-14
Last Week Player of the Game : 1-5
Season Player of the Game : 13-35

Manningship Three vs. starkweatherisawoman
My Pick : Manningship Three
Player of the Game : Chad Johnson

TD EXPLOSION vs. The Pack Attack
My Pick : TD EXPLOSION
Player of the Game : Priest Holmes

favrelishous vs. YaLebluParuski
My Pick : YaLebluParuski
Player of the Game : Drew Brees

The Ultimate Dynasty vs. Cellar Dwellar's
My Pick : The Ultimate Dynasty
Player of the Game : Manning again

Six More Years vs. bens winning team
My Pick : Six More Years
Player of the Game : Reggie Wayne

Zinc Chefs vs. Burgandy&Gold#1
My Pick : Burgandy&Gold#1
Player of the Game : Matt Hasselbeck

A thousand thousand slimy things

Wow I am a genius. I was president so I had to say some really boring things. Then I was standing in line and the only people that shook my hand were on XC or in my computer science class. Elizabeth Snook gave me a high five, which was kind of strange, but whatever, anything to reduce the boredom. Evans gave some crazy handshake so he won the best handshake thing.

I wanted to say something else but I forgot. Oh yeah the team was 5/5 in districts and only 4 move on, so no more XC for any guy except Joel. That wasn't what I really wanted to say, but oh well. Such is life. It says "McNish to Batwain" and is signed my Mr. Deane in highligher. Mr. Deane actually told us about the pass before we found it, so the fact that a scrap of paper was legendary is ridiculous. Mr. Cochran might give it back to me if Mr. Deane agrees to give me cup points for it.

Then Joel found this application for work at Mudhouse that Teka Phan filled out. He said Teka Pan though, and Guff and Ben and I lost it. It was pretty funny. Then Ben asked him if he said pone instead of phone. Teka Pan, perhaps related to Peter Pan.

Today we stole Joel's van to drive to cross country with.

Results
Last Week : 6-0
Perfect record genius level.
Season : 24-6
Last Week Player of the Game : 1-5
Season Player of the Game : 7-23

The Ultimate Dynasty vs. YaLebluParuski
My Pick : YaLebluParuski
Player of the Game : Domanick Davis

Coors for Senate vs favrelishous
My Pick : favrelishous
Player of the Game : Donovan McNabb

Zinc Chefs vs. TD EXPLOSION
My Pick : Zinc Chefs
Player of the Game : Deuce Staley

bens winning team vs ThePackAttack
My Pick : ThePackAttack
Player of the Game : Daunte Culpepper

Cellar Dweller's vs starkweatherisawoman
My Pick : starkweatherisawoman
Player of the Game : Terrell Owens

Manningship Three vs. Burgandy&Gold#1
Redskins suck. First I was at a meet for basically all day. The course was really hard and you had to run up a really long hill to what seemed like the top of the world. I did alright though, I guess. I am a little tired of cross country by now, but it is my last week or two, so I'm trying to enjoy it. It was really cold and kind of rainy during the run. This guy gave everyone on the team a lot of pizza, so that was the best thing that happened all day. Ted spilled a whole box of it all over the ground, but we made him eat it anyway.

Traffic was really bad on the way back from the meet. There was a crazy 18 wheeler accident that blocked a lane of traffic. The truck was upside down and blocked the right hand lane of 81, and was facing the wrong direction. It's pretty crazy to see a huge truck like that turned over. I have a feeling that the driver didn't end up too well, which sucks, but truck drivers on 81 are crazy. It's weird how everyone accepts highway accidents as just something that happens.

UVa sucked in the game. A lot. There were a lot of people watching it, but most of them left and went to the dance after a while, or just left and drove around. Even though UVa was doing bad I didn't get too upset I guess. It was funny to listen to Jake; he is such an optimist. He thought FSU fumbled on every play. That made the game less depressing. Also the Red Sox probably lost. This whole day made me really tired.

Go Giants!

Results
Last Week : 5-1
Of course my brother ruined it by losing.
Season : 18-6
Last Week Player of the Game : 1-5
Oh man I am a genius for picking Drew Brees.
Season Player of the Game : 6-18

The Ultimate Dynasty vs. favrelishous
My Pick : The Ultimate Dynasty
Player of the Game : Peyton Manning

Coors for Senate vs. Zinc Chefs
My Pick : Coors for Senate
Player of the Game : Randy Moss

Burgandy&Gold#1 vs. ThePackAttack
My Pick : Burgandy&Gold#1
Player of the Game : Amani Toomer

bens winning team vs. starkweatherisawoman
My Pick : bens winning team
Player of the Game : Philly bye week (But for record keeping I will say Marvin Harrison)

Cellar Dwellar's vs. TD EXPLOSION
Man this game is like classic Bengals versus Cardinals. I almost typed prediction, because I do predict a lot on the blog. This post is about the They Might Be Giants show a long time ago. And how it rocked. And how all their songs are so sweet. And their lead guitarist looked like Mr. Kishore (that was actually kind of unsettling.) And the twists they put in all the songs were so sweet.

You should all watch this video. One, the song is by They Might Be Giants and its a pretty awesome song. Two, the video is by homestarrunner.com, and their cartoons are pretty funny. Three (unrelated, sort of), Mr. Kishore kind of reminds me of Strong Sad, in the way that he doesn't like to have fun a lot of the time. At least thats the impression that I get. Actually they are only vaguely alike, but weirdly.

Experimental Film

Week Vier Predictions

Haha, yes I did change the time. The other one got screwed up as I was laughing at Ross's Haiku of Cort, and accidentally pressed ENTER. So we're here in Ben's room, watching Jake Bloom play AI in some NCAA football. Jake's really killing AI. He just made an interception, and I believe he ran that back at least 80 yards for the touchdown. Don't blame Aaron though. There have been so many Jewish holidays lately, he hasn't been able to play video games in a month. Ben's recently vetoed trade leaves him in a similar position to my dad, down a RB. We'll say that Mike Vick goes nuts in this game that features three Chief running backs.
My Pick : TD EXPLOSION
Player of the Game : Mike Vick

Burgandy&Gold#1 vs. Cellar Dweller's
One would think that Max would keep on winning and Jake would keep on losing, but Jake makes it a little bit close, especially with Jamal Lewis having a big game.
My Pick : Burgandy&Gold#1
Player of the Game : Jamal Lewis

YaLebluParuski vs. starkweatherisawoman
Both teams are a little banged up, so its a little hard to tell who actually will play. Josh will take it, considering his whole team is solid.
My Pick : starkweatherisawoman
Player of the Game : Marc Bulger

favrelishous vs. The Pack Attack
Packers fan versus Packers fan square off in this matchup of two teams looking to get back on track. Charles's team appears to have harder matchups, so I will take Joel because of that.
My Pick : favrelishous
Player of the Game : Donovan McNabb

The Ultimate Dynasty vs. Coors for Senate
Ben tries to go for the first sweep of my family. For some reason he is starting Tim Carter, which I think is hilarious. Domanick Davis goes quasi-nuts, but Randy Moss is so angry that he goes totally nuts versus the Bears. Griffin gets a little bounce back versus the Chargers as well. However, Ben's team is more solid overall, plus he has Manning at QB.
My Pick : The Ultimate Dynasty
Player of the Game : Domanick Davis

Manningship Three vs. Zinc Chefs
I refuse to even look at the players playing in this game. I can't pick myself, because so far that has given me terrible luck. So I pick Taylor in this game. Taylor really pleaded with me to pick against him, because he thinks that whenever I pick him to win he wins. He doesn't want to win because he thinks that gives the CHS football team bad luck. At the risk of making Lousia win, I still pick Taylor to win this game.
My Pick : Zinc Chefs
Player of the Game : Kurt Warner

Taylor is the Man

This story really sucks so far, sorry Taylor. In fact I am so close to the deadline that you gave me that I'm almost writing anything that comes into my mind right now. This story is about Taylor, and how he is the man. One day Lee Corso said, "Not so fast! Taylor is actually not the man." But he was wrong. He was wrong because : 1) Lee Corso is crazy, but not as crazy as Terry Bradshaw. (Speaking of this, seeing them together in that really lame Hooters commercial made me lose all respect that I didn't have for either of them in the first place.) 2) Taylor actually is the man. So one day Taylor felt bad about being the man because he realized that the balance of the universe could only be made right if he either lost in fantasy football, or he led the CHS football team to defeat. He could only win one of the games. He really wanted to win the CHS game, but we can't always get what we want, regardless of whether we are the man or not. Taylor was so infuriated by this unfortunate circumstance of the universe that it made him think about all the ex-girlfriends that he had in his contact list on his cell phone. He was feeling particularly like a sad version of the man, so he decided to get really distracted by watching football, and the Raiders and the Jaguars were playing, which meant Tyrone Wheatley was playing, which vaguely relates to his original idea of girlfriends.

To be continued...

Jump Start

This happened a while ago, but here goes. Yesterday after practice, Nico's car battery was dead, so Joel had to give him a jump start. No one knew how to do it exactly right, but Emlen called her dad and he told us how to ground one of the cables. Ok, so we are all watching, Joel starts his van, Nico is therefore able to start his car. Then Joel turns his car off, but when Emlen is taking the cables off, she still doesn't follow everyones warnings and touches the two clips together. It makes a huge spark and everyone cringes, then starts cracking up. The moral of this story is that cars are bad news. Also my free cross country shirt is way too small, so I will only wear it like once a month.

Run Away!

Bees are the deadliest animals on earth. On Thursday when we were running on secret trails/exploring a river, Evans had a nasty run in with a hornets nest. After exclaiming an expletive, and getting stung 8 times, he began to run back across the stones in the stream. Charles also got stung a couple of times. Then when we were waiting on the trail near the river the hornets came back and stung BP on the back of the head. So we ran. We ran like we don't run most of the days in practice. Half a mile away a few bees were still around so we sprinted. We sprinted like most of us actually do sprint at the end of a race. Evans stepped in this hidden hole on the trail and sprained his ankle. We returned to the weight room wet, and covered in stings. Our coach didn't notice, however. He did suspect Evans and Sam of stealing some shirts, but they were innocent of that charge. We will have our revenge on the bees, perhaps with some granulated chlorine. Also, I fortunately escaped unscathed.

Super Secret Trails

Here's a hint. Ben is hurting for RBs and I don't think Tiki will score as many points as last week. Max has some injuries on defense, and tough matchups for offense. Santana Moss is playing the Chargers, so Ben gets points there, but Max will win.

My Pick : Burgandy&Gold#1
Player of the Game : Santana Moss

YaLebluParuski vs. Cellar Dweller's
It's really hard to predict this one because Jake hasn't put Jamal Lewis in the lineup. I will assume that Jake will fail to start a second RB and that Shaun Alexander won't play enough to score significant points, so each team will be down one RB to start off. Guthrie has the slight edge in WRs and neither has a good defense. Garcia plays Dallas but he doesn't have Randy Moss on his team, so McNair outperforms him. Jake will move into last place just like he wants to.
My Pick : YaLebluParuski
Player of the Game : Steve McNair

favrelishous vs. starkweatherisawoman
T.O. is playing the Vikings, a team that gave up lots of passing yardage to the Cowboys in week 1. Sure he will score big points, but McNabb is throwing to him, so his points sort of cancel out. Joel has a good trio in McNabb, Horn, and Tomlinson. His defense also should score a lot of points. I will take a gamble on Barlow, and say he will run all over the Saints. However, the only way I see Josh winning is if Tomlinson does really bad and Bulger does really well, and that won't happen.
My Pick : favrelishous
Player of the Game : Kevan Barlow

Zinc Chefs vs. The Pack Attack
I like the QB matchup here. The Eagles aren't perfect against the pass, they only have a good pass rush and lack a great secondary. Culpepper should throw for a lot of yards, and as long as he doesn't fumble a lot he will do well. Pennington gets to play the Chargers, and therefore should score a lot of points. The problem with that for Taylor is that C-Mart also puts up big numbers. Shockey usually does well against the Redskins, and although he is rusty, I predict he doesn't drop any scoring passes this game. Gonzo doesn't yet totally recover from last week's bad game and fails to score. The real key here is that either Portis or Coles will go nuts vs. the Giants, and Pilk has them both. I think it will be Portis.
My Pick : Zinc Chefs
Player of the Game : Clinton Portis

The Ultimate Dynasty vs. TD EXPLOSION
The older Manning might have a tough time with the Titans' defense, but Rich Gannon is going to run headfirst into the rock solid wall (except when it counts) that is the Buffalo defense. Ben's running backs have easy matchups so they will do better together than the high Priest Holmes does alone. Matt Bowen probably will have a good game, and Ray Lewis always does. Neither team has exciting wide receivers.
My Pick : The Ultimate Dynasty
Player of the Game : Priest Holmes

Manningship Three vs. Coors for Senate
Now we come to my game. Last week was unfortunate as I seem to have given myself bad luck, and at the same time it was the only game I predicted wrong. It makes me cautious in this week's prediction. Quentin Griffin and Fred Taylor go head to head today in the once again sunny state of Florida. Denver's defense is soft in exactly the way that Jacksonville's isn't. Jacksonville may struggle a little more on offense but Taylor gets the nod. Green doesn't have as crazy a game as last week, but he will still do well like the top player he is. My brother's wide recievers are all a notch above the ones I have. My brother benefits from Stephen Davis's injury, but my prediction is that Jerome Bettis will have more points from the bench (by touchdowns only) than Foster does from the starting lineup. Both teams have solid defenses and tight ends. Brett Favre is a notch ahead of Aaron Brooks. If the Packers pass a lot I am in trouble. I predict that I will win as long as Brooks scores zero points or better.
My Pick : Manningship Three
Player of the Game : Randy Moss

To Sleep

I'm overcome by lassitude and apathy. I think I'm getting really sick because cross country is making me even more tired than it usually does. Insanely tired. Tiredness makes me think weird thoughts. For example, what if there was a war where people dropped money on the citizens of the other country in an effort to win their favor. Also, bombs are more expensive than big bundles of money anyway. Then I thought some more and came to the conclusion that this would probably inspire revolt in the original country, or the country being money bombed would just use the money to buy a bunch of weapons to fight against the first country with.

The Future is Ours

It's time for Fantasy Football 2004 predictions (The first of a series of weekly posts).

Week 1

Burgandy&Gold#1 vs. TD EXPLOSION
This game won't even be close. TD EXPLOSION is a team more likely to implode than explode. The Lewis combo puts up most of his points. Max has a solid D and two good running backs at this point. Hasselbeck has a big game against the suspect defense of the Saints.
My Pick : Burgandy&Gold#1
Player of the Game : Matt Hasselbeck

YaLebluParuski vs. bens winning team
This is a tough one. Both teams are very similar pointage-wise. The defensive nod goes to Ben and he also will get a slightly better game out of his wide recievers, due to solid performance from Jimmy Smith. However, Shaun Alexander comes up big for his long lost cousin (if you don't get it look at the last name). Maybe not huge because I already said Hasselbeck would do well, but good enough. Note : I am assuming that Titans at Dolphins will not be cancelled, but if Ivan strikes look for Ben to win. Otherwise Guff pulls an upset...
My Pick : YaLebluParuski
Player of the Game : Shaun Alexander

Coors for Senate vs. The Pack Attack
This game won't be too exciting. Neither team looks that great to me. Moss will put up around 20% of my brother's points. A good tight end matchup, but Gonzo will get the TD and best Heap. Griffin will have a decent game. Look for Brian Westbrook to unfortunately have a big game. That will put Charles over the top.
My Pick : The Pack Attack
Player of the Game : Brian Westbrook

Zinc Chefs vs. starkweatherisawoman
In this game Marc Bulger and Torry Holt basically cancel each other out. They will both put up some big numbers versus the Cardinals, but Marc Bulger won't have a lot of points that aren't going to Holt. Shockey is a risky play because of injury, but it will pan out for Pilk, and he will score a TD. Josh's young running back corps of Barlow and Jones will put up just good enough numbers, that when combined with his plethora of wide recievers gets him the win. Actually just kidding, Taylor's defense is better so he wins.
My Pick : Zinc Chefs
Player of the Game : Laveranues Coles

favrelishous vs. ComeOnWinnersPlayoff
With Deuce and Holmes, Jake's starting running backs are the best in the league, and they will both put up similar numbers, Holmes getting more in the TD department. Andre Johnson will help make up for weaknesses in other wide receivers, and in Jeff Garcia. Joel counters with McNabb, who will have a good game this week, despite not being that good in my opinion. Also, Joel gets the nod on defense, but just slightly. Dallas Clark will get into the action, surpassing Boo Williams by a vast points margin. The real stud for Joel is LT with a favorable matchup versus the Texans, who have a bad defense. Tomlinson puts up big numbers and secure the upset therefore...
My Pick : favrelishous
Player of the Game : LaDainian Tomlinson

Manningship Three vs. The Ultimate Dynasty
I won't say too much about my game. Manning will beat out Green, because he is spectacular as opposed to just consistently above average. Good defenses for both teams. My wide recievers are hurting, but Ben's aren't too much better. The real difference here is RB. Dillon disappoints, while Ahman Green steps it up in prime time for a big game.
My Pick : Manningship Three
Player of the Game : Ahman Green

Next week I will see how wrong I was.

The Lead Never Turned into Gold

Here is a reminder to everyone : always do your work on time. Realized this blog is set to Pacific time.

The Vermonster was Vermonsted

The elite seven of eating took out a Vermonster at Ben and Jerry's after practice today. It was a lot of ice cream, but I didn't really enjoy the fact that they put 4 bananas in, because that was about 2 bananas too many. There were a bunch of frozen banana chunks in chocolate sauce at the bottom, and it wasn't good for eating.

I might change this blog to my actual website sometime soon. It's a struggle to keep that around though, because I have to pay for server space and whatnot. I really don't like having ads, but they aren't too bad here.

Also, for your moment of daily awesomeness: check this crazy G.I. I won monopoly due to my monopoly on Boardwalk and Park Place. Fortunately all 4 of the other players hit my one-hit-kill Boardwalk. I did lose in NCAA 2005 though, which sucked, because I expect to win everything, and the game was a 1370 greatness score. Also I beat The Answer in boxing. Boxing was kind of fun but I didnt really want to hurt A.I. I'm pretty sure no one wanted to hurt anyone in boxing. I was so tired for the rest of the weekend though. Also my car broke down on the way to church. It turned out to be a not expensive repair however, so my 13 year old car lives to see another day.

Warning : Brain Freeze

On the way home from practice today, I took Ruven to get Slurpees. He has never had a Slurpee before, because in Deutchland they are sensible people and don't drink things that are 100% sugar. All the good flavors were broken, but Ruven liked his for a while, but wanted to feed the rest to the dogs. He had a genius quote however, because my brother warned him about Brain Freeze, making it seem really painful. Ruven, acting scared, says "I never knew that they were actually dangerous."
